Ø February 18th –Duke Splash

Duke University is looking for high school students to participate in an innovative educational outreach program that                               brings local high school students to Duke for one day and gives them the opportunity to take short, innovative, and most importantly fun courses taught by Duke Students.  This year, Duke Splash will be held on Saturday, February 18th, 2012. Registration for students is now open on the site, dukesplash.learningu.com. The cost is $20 but we have very generous financial aid.

 

We have over 40 unique classes offered throughout a 4 class period day, including What can Google do for me?, Skin Cell to Stem Cell, and Improv Comedy. All we need now are the students to teach. All questions can be directed to dukesplash@gmail.com or rlj20@duke.edu.

Ø March 6thTuesday—All juniors will be taking the ACT College Entrance Exam from 8:45 until 1:00. There is no charge to students; all 11th graders are required to take this exam.

Ø  SENIORS: CFNC College Application Week—November 14th through 18th

·         The College Foundation of North Carolina set aside 1 week for all high school seniors to complete at least one college application for a NC Public college.

You are cordially invited you to the 7th Annual IB Exhibition Night to be held at Cedar Ridge High School on Tuesday, Nov. 8th from 6 - 8 pm.  This evening will serve as an opportunity to showcase the work done by our International Baccalaureate Diploma Program students.

Ø  To Send Transcripts?

o   If you apply to a NC College through CFNC, you can click the box that states to send your transcript electronically (2-3 business days)

o   If you don’t apply to an NC College through CFNC you can still request your transcript through CFNC.  CFNC (www.cfnc.org click on Apply to College then Transcript Manager then follow instructions)

o   If you will be applying to a college outside of NC—please complete the transcript request form and return the request to the front office (signed by a parent with $5.00 fee)
