In 2012-2013, K-12 teachers and administrators across the state of North Carolina will implement the Common Core State Standards and North Carolina Essential Standards.  This video highlights the district's plan.  The plan includes three phases:  Awareness, Transition, and Implementation.  Orange County Schools teachers are currently developing curriculum documents which are aligned to the Common Core State Standards and the North Carolina Essential Standards.  Additional information about the new K-12 standards are available at For Families and Community.
