Southern Association of Colleges & Schools (SACS) District Accreditation
Overview
The Orange County School System is currently undergoing District Accreditation. Instead of individual schools writing a self-study and hosting a visit to gain accreditation, we will be going through the process at the school system level.
The District Improvement Team has been working for several months to gather information and write the district’s self-study. Now called the District Standards Assessment Report, this document examines the work of the school system in a variety of areas critical to growth, improvement, and accreditation.
The Orange County School System’s accreditation visit will take place on
April 25-28, 2010. At that time, a team of educators from across the southeast will be coming to the school system to interview school and system administrators, teachers, parents, students, and community members about the work of the school system. The team will also visit a number of schools across the district.
