2012-13 Update! We are very excited to be working with Habitat for our fourth year. Sports Endeavors, for the third year, will be funding the partnership with Habitat. Orange High Students will be building the house again under the instruction of Mat Hamlett.
The Hands for Habitat Partnership will engage students in Orange County Schools in an ambitious service learning project designed to increase awareness of issues surrounding housing and affordability. The project has three components:
During the 2012-13 school year, construction classes from Orange High School will build a green-certified home in the Fairview Community of Hillsborough.
Classrooms at various grade levels throughout the district will engage in educational and service learning activities designed by Habitat for Humanity International to focus on housing issues that affect our community and world.
