English as a Second Language (ESL)

Resources for Parents & Educators

According to the United States Census Bureau, by the year 2010, 30% of students will be English language learners, and many schools are starting to rethink their training and curricula to address the issue of a large number of incoming students who may have limited English skills.  As the number of English language learners continues to grow, teachers and administrators are seeking effective programs and instructional strategies to meet the needs of each student.  The resources provided on this page provide research, instructional strategies, resources from professional organizations, support documents for parents and educators as well as opportunities for teachers to network with educators across the world.
