Daily Schedule:

Arrival Time: We also would like to request that students arrive at school no earlier than 7:30am and no later than 7:55am. It is not safe for them to be hanging around or playing in the halls with no supervision. We certainly do not want your child to get injured prior to the school
day.

Stay-Tuned:  Ask your child what he or she is studying, and look in the homework folder every night.  Your O.W.L. folder is where you will find the newsletters and notes that ahttp://hill.troy.k12.mi.us/staff/bnewingham/myweb3/Clipart/bos0_tni%5b1%5d.gifre sent home, as well as any homework that needs to be completed.  Our weekly newsletter will help you keep up with important happenings in our classroom.  We will also send home progress reports or make phone calls if we feel that your child is not progressing as expected.

Ask Questions:  If you have any concerns or are wondering why something is happening, pleasehttp://hill.troy.k12.mi.us/staff/bnewingham/myweb3/Clipart/hxn2imn1%5b1%5d.gif feel free to call or email us at any time.  We welcome all concerns, ideas, and feedback that affect your child or our classroom.   If something is not working, we are more than willing to talk.  We welcome all feedback!

Room Temperature: Our room gets to be a little chilly at times.  Please make sure that you send a light jacket with your child if they tend to get cold easily (like me!).

Lunch: We are scheduled to eat lunch at 12:52. This is a late lunch!

Snack:  We will have snack about 9:45am each morning.  All students may bring a nutritious snack (yogurt, cheese sticks, fruit & veggies) and a bottle of water to school every day. Please refrain from packing brownies, cookies, juice, chips, etc. for their snack. Please do not send water bottles that have twist-off caps.   Please also give us a heads up at least a day ahead of time if your child is planning to bring a treat for his or her birthday.

Homework:  You should expect that your child will have some type of homework most every day.  You will always find the homework assignments written on an assignment log that is kept in the O.W.L. homework folder.  It will http://hill.troy.k12.mi.us/staff/bnewingham/myweb3/Clipart/3wqge0nn%5b1%5d.gifgo home every day.  We encourage you to set up with your child a scheduled time for homework each day.   Students should be able to do most assignments independently, but do help if it is completely necessary.  If you notice that your child is not able to do an assignment on his or her own, please send a note or jot a note to us on the assignment.  We will contact you if your child is falling behind or turning in poor work.

Supply List:

A generic supply list was sent out this summer to all incoming third graders at Cameron Park. I’ve included this list below! There are a few other items that I would like my students to have this school year. These items have been labeled with stars. If you are able, I would appreciate your help in acquiring any of the items listed under “Wishes”. Thank you!

Supplies

  • 2 composition notebooks (not spiral-bound, composition books are usually black and white with a cardboard cover)
  • 1 three-subject wide rule spiral notebook
  • 1 plastic pocket folder with prongs(this will be used as your homework folder which will see lots of wear and tear, so it needs to be sturdier than a paper folder)

  • 1 pack markers basic colors
