Congratulations to Efland-Cheeks student, Natalia, who submitted the winning essay in this years National Pawn Mother's Day Essay competition. Natalia won a pair of diamond earrings to present to her mom for Mother's Day, a $100 gift card to keep for herself, and a $2500 check to present to Efland-Cheeks Elementary to support their school improvement plan.
Basketball star Phil Ford visited Hillsborough Elementary recently. Students and staff enjoyed hearing about his days as a college player at UNC as well as his professional NBA career and Olympic memories.
