7 Habits at Efland-Cheeks
We are very excited to be working with Franklin Covey Education to implement the Leader in Me. We are in the early stages of implementing the program and are excited to bring the leadership model to the Efland-Cheeks Community.
The Leader in Me is a whole-school transformation model that acts like the operating system of a computer — it improves performance of all other programs. Based on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People®, The Leader in Me produces transformational results such as higher academic achievement, fewer discipline problems, and increased engagement among teachers and parents. Better yet, The Leader in Me equips students with the self-confidence and skills they need to thrive in the 21st century economy. |

Going the Extra Degree
This year, we have a school-wide theme, 212°, The Extra Degree. The premise behind our theme is: At 211°, water is hot. At 212°, it boils. With boiling water comes steam and steam can power a locomotive. This theme reminds each of us to take the extra step in our efforts to improve the academic and social lives of each student at Efland-Cheeks. Our teachers will be discussing this theme with students throughout the year. We’ll also be recognizing students, staff, parents and community partners for providing examples of 212° acts, such as 212° kindness, 212° leadership, and 212° support. I would like to encourage you to talk to your children about their efforts to take the extra degree in all that they do this year at Efland-Cheeks.
