At our Young Citizenship Assembly on January 10, 2013, sponsored by the Hillsborough Exchange Club, our student leaders and Ms. Byerly were recognized for their good character.
After presenting students with their certificates, Ms. Betty Ann Byerly was presented with a plaque by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) for her District Teacher of the Year Award. She is one of 16 top teachers in the state competing for their NC Teacher of the Year Award. Four students honored her by reading essays about how Ms. Byerly has impacted their lives. Operation Playground

Operation Playground was our "campaign" to win the Pepsi Refresh Grant
which would provide funds to construct a new playground
for Grades 3-5. We earned the $25,000 grant in May 2011. We are PROUD
that we came together as a school and community in this effort.
