Grady A. Brown Elementary School is located about three miles southwest of historic Hillsborough. The facility, built in 1975, serves area kindergarten through fifth graders from the Orange County Schools District. The school was named for Mr. Grady Anderson Brown, who was a well respected teacher, coach, and principal at the old Hillsborough High School.

Grady A. Brown Elementary will be a leader in promoting learning and achievement for all the students through the use of best practices.

The staff of Grady A. Brown Elementary School believe that all students can learn and that it is the responsibility of the school's employees to provide opportunities for students to learn.

The mission of Grady A. Brown Elementary School, therefore, is to educate all students to their highest level of academic performance, while fostering positive development of their physical, mental, and social needs, so that each individual student may make a positive contribution to our democratic society.

When you make good choices, good things happen.
