Grady A. Brown Elementary School is located about three miles southwest of historic Hillsborough. The facility, built in 1975, serves area kindergarten through fifth graders from the Orange County Schools District. The school was named for Mr. Grady Anderson Brown, who was a well respected teacher, coach, and principal at the old Hillsborough High School.

The mission of Grady A. Brown Elementary School is to educate all students to their highest level of academic performance, while fostering positive development of their physical, mental, and social well being, so that all students can be contributing citizens to our democratic society.
