Issued: 09/01/1979

The buildings and grounds maintenance shall be under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance. The school district shall maintain the plants and equipment in first‑class condition by a continuous program of repair, reconditioning, and remodeling.

Adequate grounds shall be maintained for the educational and recreational program of the school children and the overall requirements for providing such grounds shall be continually reviewed.

The Board also recognizes the value of attractive landscaping consistent with economy in cost and operation.  School groups and the community shall be encouraged to participate in the beautification of school grounds.  All landscaping needs to be coordinated with the Director of Maintenance so that building integrity is not diminished in such a way as to adversely impact indoor air quality.  No plantings are allowed within 36” of the building.  Maintenance will coordinate all plans to dig on any campus to avoid safety issues with below ground electrical, water, gas and communication lines.
