PROGRAM HOURS

Orange County Schools Summer Camps are 5-star rated by the NC Department of Health and Human Services Childcare Division.
Orange County Schools Summer Camp program offers a multi-faceted program for incoming students in grades 1-6. It is organized around weekly themes with related hands-on, creative and physical activities. Children are grouped by age with counselors who assist them with age and developmentally appropriate activities. The program is designed to provide fun, enrichment and recreational activities in a caring environment.
Students may participate in varied activities including arts/crafts, cooking, music/dance, cooperative games, computers, and recreational games. An extensive field trip program is part of the Summer Camp fun and learning experience. Field trips may include visits to museums, the zoo, historical areas and parks. Guest entertainers and speakers are another popular, culturally enriching and vital part of the child’s educational experience while attending camp.
The program accepts 60 students per site on a first come-first serve basis until all slots are filled.
Transportation is not provided.
Lunch is not provided at all sites.

- The low 1:15 ratio of staff to campers assures individual care and attention;

- A summer camp T-shirt and daily afternoon snacks.

A Look Back at Summer Camp 2011
Orange County Schools Summer Campers expanded their knowledge of working and modern farms by heading to Raleigh to the State Farmers Market. They enjoyed many treats including produce, ice cream and flowers.
